Lyceum Music Festival Policies and Terms

 

Refund Policy: All deposits are non-refundable for any reason.  Students who notify the Festival in writing prior to May 31st that they are unable to attend due to a medical concern may prevent the auto-deduction of the remainder of tuition owed or collect a refund of the amount minus the $100 non-refundable deposit. Those who notify the Festival after May 31st will not receive a refund regardless of the ability to attend.

Attendance: Students are expected to attend all rehearsals, sectionals, and performances held during the course of the Festival, unless excused in writing by Festival Director or Manager in advance.

Preparation: All previously distributed music should be prepared prior to attendance and should be included in the student’s daily practice regimen prior to arriving. It is expected that each student will employ the help of their private teacher to help learn the music that will be performed.

Rehearsal Dress: Students will  be expected to dress modestly. Immodest rehearsal clothing includes short shorts and skirts, sleeveless shirts or shirts that do not cover the stomach and other revealing attire.

Concert Dress:
Festival Orchestra: Women: modest black dress, skirt or dress pants, black or white blouse. Dress/skirt should cover the knee when seated. Blouse should cover the shoulder. Men: black tuxedo or suit, black shoes/socks, black bowtie and cummerbund or tie.
Sinfonia:
Festival T-shirt and jeans or slacks.
Camerata:
Festival T-shirt and jeans or slacks.

Instruments, Equipment and Sheet Music: Participants are required to have their music, instrument, pencil and all other necessary equipment with them at each rehearsal. Sheet music is the sole responsibility of the student to whom it is checked out. Any lost, damaged or unreturned music will be charged to the student’s account.

Standards of Conduct: Students and parents are expected to be respectful of all participants, staff and faculty at all times. This includes attending rehearsals prepared and on time, being willing to help other students to be better musicians, and being respectful of religious practices and standards of all participants. Lyceum Music Festival is sponsored by American Heritage School, a faith-based institution. We believe in encouraging all participants to openly practice their religious beliefs but do not proselyte or discriminate based on religious affiliation. Participants are expected to conduct themselves on and off the Festival premises in accordance with the following standards.

  • Treat all participants, adults, and property with respect.
  • Dress modestly and appropriately for all LMF activities.
  • Do not engage in inappropriate public or private displays of physical romantic affection.
  • Refrain from the use of profanity or other vulgar or offensive language, including taking the name of Deity in vain.
  • Do not access pornography, vulgar or offensive media in any form, via any medium, including through mobile devices or computers.
  • Do not use drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products. Medications in the possession of a student must be registered on the on-line enrollment form approved by the legal parent or guardian.

Parental Waiver of Liability and Authorizations

The Lyceum Music Festival (LMF) will provide every responsible safeguard for the health and safety of each Participant but cannot be held responsible for accidents or illness. In the event that an accident or illness does occur, parents will be notified as soon as possible and their wishes carried out as fully as practicable.

As the parent, legal guardian, or authorized representative of the  Participant  listed above,  I hereby give consent  to LMF to provide all emergency dental and/or medical care prescribed by a duly licensed physician (MD or DO) or  dentist (DDS) for the above named Participant. This care may be given under whatever conditions are necessary to preserve life, limb, or well-being of the Participant.

By agreeing to this Parental Waiver of Liability and Authorization (the “Waiver”), and to the extent permitted by law, I, as the parent/guardian of the Applicant listed above, of myself, my heirs, personal representatives, or assigns, do hereby waive release and discharge any and all claims for damages for death, personal injury, loss or property damage which I may have or which may hereafter accrue to myself or the Applicant against American Heritage School (the “School”), its officers, directors, employees, agents, independent contractors, shareholders and other representatives (the “School Entities”) as a result of my or the Applicant’s participation in the American Heritage School Lyceum Music Festival (the “Festival”). This Waiver, release, and discharge shall apply regardless  of the nature, type or condition of the events involved, the condition of the sites involved, the supervision provided, or the activities performed, whether or not caused by the negligence (active or passive) of the School Entities.

Participation in the Festival, including transportation to and from, carries with it certain risks that cannot be eliminated regardless of the care taken to avoid injuries. This Waiver is signed in order for me or my child to participate in this activity for my or his or her own personal enjoyment and benefit and is done so freely with full knowledge of the potential risk and dangers that may arise. I acknowledge that Festival activities may be held both indoors and outdoors under the general supervision of the School Entities. By signing this agreement, I further acknowledge that I agree to assume and bear sole responsibility for any dangers and risks that absolve, hold harmless, and covenant    not to sue the School Entities from any and all risks of any nature and kind associated with the Festival.

Further, I understand and agree that, for the safety and comfort of all participants, the Festival is a non-smoking, drug-free environment. Any consumption or use of alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, controlled substances, or inappropriate use of medications and prescription medications, will be grounds for immediate dismissal  from  the Festival without refund and will also be treated in conformance with all applicable laws governing environmental protection, health and safety. The School reserves the right to dismiss or remove Applicants for misbehavior at any time. I acknowledge that if the Applicant is dismissed or otherwise removed from the Festival, I will be completely responsible for making arrangements for transportation, and that the School shall make no refunds of any funds paid for the Festival. Willful destruction or stealing of property will be the responsibility of the Applicant’s parent / guardian and damages will be the sole responsibility of the parent / guardian. The School Entities are not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen personal belongings, including musical instruments and equipment.  I agree that the School may use any pictures, videos or sound recordings taken of the Applicant during the Festival rehearsals and performances for the purposes of marketing to the general public. I authorize the School to copy, exhibit, publish or distribute any and all such images for the purpose of publicizing the Festival or for any other lawful purpose.  I agree to hold harmless and forever discharge the School Entities from all claims, demands and causes of action which I, my heirs, representatives, executors, administrators,  or any other persons acting on my or my child(ren)’s behalf of my estate have by reason and authorization.

I have read this document and I understand and agree to all of its terms and conditions. I understand that I am  giving up substantial rights (including my right to sue), and acknowledge that agreeing  to  this  document  freely  and voluntarily, and intend by my consent to provide a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the  greatest extent allowed by law.

Enrollment is considered complete upon receipt of this online Enrollment Application. Acceptance is based on audition or invitation, and full payment of Tuition. A minimum payment of $100 is required from all accepted applicants to secure a seat in the Festival. Remaining payment will be deducted on May 31st if not received prior to that time.
